What?

Together with an amazing team of designers from Scout, I worked to create an elevated design strategy including a packaging redesign and new web pages to expand the brand’s online presence.



Why?

Rooted Living is Boston’s solution to wasteful snacking. Rachel Domb, the founder, created a snack that is free of refined ingredients and utilizes compostable packaging.

How?
First, we asked the question, “who is Rooted Living?” We worked together with the client, performing brainstorming excerises to define the brand.

After arriving at a concrete idea of who Rooted Living was, we started working on visual solutions to express our goals.





Rooted Living, Elevated. 
The brand strategy focuses on clarity of communication. With a bolder take on the brand’s existing colors and illustration style, we aimed to elevate Rooted Living to the next level.

We explored several color combinations, testing contrasts to ensure proper accessibility.

Packaging
Starting with variations of lo-fi designs, we worked to create a layout that was eye-catching, informative, approachable, and conversational.



We worked with the incredible production team to get detailed images of each granola flavor and its ingredients.


After rounds of exploration we eventually found the vision that best reflected Rachel’s vision of the brand and what it stands for.












Web Design
This process began with a site map and a series of lo-fi layouts.




























 


From there, we created illustrations and added our colors to make the hi-fis really pop!
